Timelines for TNC report

  • Mar. 8, 2019: Taxi office conversation with Uber representatives - same people who met with the Mayor.
  • Apr. 2, 2019: Meeting of HRM staff regarding overall view of ride sharing from the city’s perspective. Preparation for jurisdictional scan.
  • Apr. 18, 2019: Taxi staff conversation with Halifax International Airport Authority regarding ride sharing.

Proposed timelines

  • May 9, 2019: Jurisdictional scan questions for Canadian municipalities will be sent.
  • May 29, 2019: Meeting of city staff with Uber representatives including the provincial insurance contact. NOW JULY 9th
  • May 23, 2019: Responses to jurisdictional scan due from municipalities.
  • June 20, 2019: Follow up HRM staff meeting regarding jurisdictional scan.
  • Summer/fall, 2019: Collaborative report writing.
  • Nov., 2019: Report for Regional Council.
